Letters from the Breach is a really great RA blog. In particular, check out THIS post! Pretty scary, but real! I take handfuls of pills morning and night, and sometimes at mid-day, too, depending on what else is going on.
My case of RA is the “simmery” kind. It started out very mild but has escalated and is now moderately severe. I’m in a holding pattern, fighting to keep the disease from progressing any farther. The involvement of my lumbar spine, however, has disabled me more than anything else. So I’m looking at various ways to lose weight and other ways to keep my spine from further degeneration.
Hips and knees are painful as well as my elbows and shoulders – to the point I’m going to discuss knee and hip replacements with my Dr later this month. Right elbow may take precedence in terms of day-to-day functionality. I use my hands and arms for work more than I use my hips and knees.
It’s a really weird way to live.
But keeping a good ATTITUDE is critical under all circumstances.
