You know it will be an “interesting” day when you can’t turn off the alarm clocks (yeah, I use 3 of them) and can’t wipe your beneath.
So, I went out to make coffee. Interesting, again. Had to use all my little aids – pouring 1/2 container (2 qt pitcher) of water at a time into the pot because I couldn’t hold the whole thing. Should have done it in 1/3’s or 1/4’s instead of 1/2. Yeah. Next time that’s what I’ll do. Couldn’t carry the Ol’ Curmudgeon’s cup back to him; had to take 1/4 cup instead. Left the other one in the kitchen.
Trouble using cane – wrists hurt too much. Fingies swollen, knuckles stiff. Can’t close my hands and can’t straighten them out all the way. Thank goodness for light-touch keyboards. But even with that, I’m down to about 40 or 50 wpm.
Couldn’t even fix soft-boiled eggs for my Ol’ Curmudgeon. Instead, he was reduced to making breakfast. I’ll have to work on tomorrow AM!
OK, so I can’t make breakfast, can’t walk far, can’t use my cane for long at a time, can’t carry a full cup of coffee down the hall – what CAN I do? I hate feeling so dratted helpless and dependent!
Others who have RA – what’s your coping strategy for days like this?
